EXCLUSIVE USE OF U.S. MADE 1.5 OZ FIBERMAX

We start with Fibermax 1,5 oz U.S. manufactured resin impregnated ripstop from Challenge Sailcloth. This is the best made and most expensive material and used by all major yacht sail manufacturers including Northsail and Catalina Yachts. It is a proprietary material that uses the best yarn that has the tightest concentration per square inch, is then baked to further tighten the weave. It is then bathed in resin. The resin becomes a part of the material, not just a coating.  Unlike other 1.3 oz ripstops that are imported from Taiwan and have a tendency to either twist or wear out sooner, Challenge 1.5 oz ripstop is recognized as tht strongest and most state of the art material in the world. It costs twice as much, but it’s dimensional stability and lack of diagonal stretch will ensure your air dancer and lettering will last longer and while other air dancers will rip around the lettering due to the differential between the non-stretching letteirng and the surrounding ripstop that does stretch, Fibermax will provide less stress around your lettering for a more durable unit.

GENUINE VELCRO ONLY

We only use name brand Velcro with a higher amount of hooks and weaves per square inch.  The is the area where the Air Dancer attaches to your 18” fan which blower 5000 - 5200 cubic feet of air a minute (hurricane force) and is also where the material is removed and re-attached. This part of the Air Dancer takes the strongest amount of wind beating and the 2” Velcro is super stitched using Bartlet and Hemmingway V69 UV polyester thread known for it’s use in the construction of racing yacht sails. Our competitors use 1 1/2 “ wide off brand and sew with nylon thread or worse, the imports use single stitch cotton thread.

OUTDOOR VINYL FOR BASE OF AIR DANCER

The base of our unit is made of outdoor heavy duty UV protected black nylon.  We reinforce the 2” Velcro with our best Bartlet V69 thread and add extra stitching to the Velcro and adjustment flap. Although we don’t need to, we know that the bottom area take a lot of abuse from both the fan and also when it is removed or reattached to the fan and we make sure our base is the strongest possible so that you get the best Air Dancer possible.

YACHT SAIL THREAD - STRONGEST IN WORLD

Bartlet and Hemmingway V69 polyester UV treated thread is the choice of all major yacht sail manufacturers for it’s strength of integrity and it’s ability to work with sailing ripstop material. Nylon thread has long been the standard for a well made U.S. Air Dancer, but we kick it up a notch and only use this thread for superior quality and it’s design for just such material as ripstop used under high stress conditions.

SPECIALIZED MULTI SPOOL SEWING MACHINES

Our sewing room and staff employ the use of multiple specialized industrial sewing machines that utilize the ability to use 5 threads and specialized components that allow us to use the strongest and most durable methods to fold, seam and stitch all aspects of your Air Dancer. From the body seams to the zig - zag load dispersing method used to sew on our lettering, your unit is made with the finest sewing equipment that is designed to meet the needs of our unique workmaship..

FINEST SAIL INSIGNIA CLOTH AVAILABLE

There are other places to purchase insignia cloth, but we use only a proprietary cloth used by all the major high end yacht and sail manufacturers, including Northsail.  The lettering has a special adhesive backing and is cut using the finest precision graphic cutting equipment. It is then weeded, masked and applied to your Air Dancer before it is sewn together. The lettering is then individually zigzag stitched to disperse the stress load of the non stretching insignia cloth to the slightly flexible ripstop.  It is a labor intensive process and extremely labor intensive stitching method that others do not employ for reasons of additional costs, but it is the only way we attach our lettering.

HEMMED HAIR TO STOP FRAYING AND SEAR OUR FINGERS WITH A HOTKNIFE TO REDUCE FRAY

We hem the edges of our hair and fingers to eliminate the immediate fraying so often seen on most other Air Dancers. Again, it adds time, cost and labor, but the result is a better made Air Dancer. We also use more material and create longer hair than most others to provide the most visually attention getting dancer possible.

EXTRA LONG HAIR )

The price of quality ripstop is expensive. Many other companies use shorter hair to keep the number of square yards of material to a minium. We don’t scimp on material. We make our hair 18” long and as mentioned above we sear the edges with a hot knife.  We also do not charge extra for mixing up hair and finger colors.  Our heavy duty units take a few extra days to make than the standard unit, but since there is no additional charge and the unit is made so well, unless you have an event in just a few days out, the extra few days is definitely worth the wait.

BROAD SHOULDERS AND LONG ARMS ANGLED UP

We pay extra attention to the arms and shoulder area. We make it broad and angle the arms up for a better dancing effect whereas other companies use short arms angled downward, our arms are longer and wider where they attach and our seam work  applied ensures your arms will remain on for a long time.

As with all of our equipment, we only use the best machinery to create the best components. Our Roland cutter allows us to make the most use of valuable time thru it’s speed and ability to cut to the very edge of the material. It is also very quiet and reliable which means less down time.

CAREFUL ATTENTION TO LARGER ARTWORK

We take extra time to make sure your message is very large. It uses a lot more material and adds to labor and material costs, but we know that our customers appreciate it.  Since these are designed to bring your more sales, we want to make sure you have the best sign possible.   Our heavy duty models take a little longer to make due to the extra sewing and time spent on the artwork, but for the extra few days you get the very best hand crafted Air Dancer.  Our sewer is recognized as the best in the industry, our sewing room can handle volume and your air dancer is made to order. Our boat sail insignia cloth is also the very best available in the industry and the leading choice of all major yacht and sailmakers around the world.

FAST ART MOCK UP

At the time your paid invoice is e-mailed, we attach your art mock up which is immediately sent into production unless you request we wait for your approval. The mock up is often done and e-mailed along with your invoice in just a matter of minutes.  The mock up is a good representation of what your unit will look like, although we actually make your lettering larger and decide on the best placement of your artwork during the production process for maximum sign exposure and least amount of wear.

INTO THE PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT

Once you have placed your order and received your paid invoice, your Air Dancer work order is sent immediately to the sewing department. Your unit is started into production.  The body pattern, arms, hair and fingers are cut and the best is assembled. We use a “hot knife” to cut our material. The hot knife sears the edged of the material to stop fraying. Our regular seams are folded over to also avoid any fraying.  The hair and fingers are made twice as long as most other companies and the hot knife helps stop them from fraying  Many companies will use shorter hair to save a little material and most U.S. manufacturers also make shorter arms that angle downward.  Our new design angles the arms upward for better dancing effect and the arms are longer too.

UNMATCHED SEAM WORK

Superior workmanship and seam work goes into every unit. You can see a close up of our work at left. Compare that to what was once considered the best workmanship (red/yellow photo). Good is not good enough. We will always be the best made Air Dancer and although our units can take a couple days longer to  make, they are worth it.

This is the backside (inside of Air Dancer behind the letter) to give you a good view of the stitch work that we do to dispurse the stress load and make your Air Dancer look better and last longer.

THE UNIT ABOVE IS OUR HEAVY DUTY AIR DANCER. THE HAIR IS HEMMED, THE MATERIAL IS THE BEST AND THE ARTWORK IS ZIGZAG STITCHED USING RACING SAIL THREAD.

THIS UNIT WAS MADE BY A U.S. COMPETITOR USING CHEAP MATERIAL, SINGLE STITCH LETTERING & OVERALL POOR QUALITY. THE ABOVE UNIT WAS ONLY A MONTH OLD.

We complete your air dancer by upgrading you and including the industry’s recognized gold standard 3/4 HP high efficiency, high copper content blower fan. he fan is a full 18” diameter and has a very high quality water proof push button speed switch. It has locking wheels, 2 handles, a 4 FT leash and 25 FT quality power cord. It weighs 45 pounds and carries a 3 year warranty.  The fan also has a pre-drilled 1/4 threaded hole in the center of the fan grill for mounting a light kit and also has 3  1/2” wide pre-drilled holes for placing 6 FT 1/2” wide PVC pipes in for use on very windy days or for rooftop installations to help stop the material from blowing and scratching on the roof or ground when unplugged. We do not recommend rooftop installations for that reason. For ground use, it is best to bring in each night as it is easy to pull using the wheels and leash and handles.  The fan has a low center of gravity and will not knock over and it will not move if the wheels are in the locked position.

The fan is a substantial portion of your investment. Don’ let people lead you to beleive that a 1 HP fan is better, we know the 1HP fan on the market and it is not as well made. An efficient 3/4 HP is all that is needed to provide the 5000+ CFM required to operate an Air Dancer.

Your Air Dancer is ready to go after a test and photo. Fans are often shipped ahead of time and we are currently upgrading our customers to the B-Air BB2 18” fan and also upgrading our customers to Ground/Express Combo shipping where we send you fan within 24 hours by ground and when your unit is done, we 2 day air it to you at no additional cost.

15 TO 30 FT TUBIES

A straight tube with no face or arms. Produces more of a whipping motion on the shorter 15 FT versions, less with the 20 FT and a more slow motion with the 25 FT to 30 FT versions.  These can allow a lot of signage area of many letters. They also work great to flank an existing sign, lot or rooftop balloon to bring attention to the area.

15 T0 18 FT AIR DANCERS

These are the most popular and have a face, hair, arms and fingers. The standard height is 19.6 FT tall sitting on the fan, although they can be made shorter. They are one leg and only need one fan. The have become a pop culture icon and they have the cute factor that makes them seem very alive. Children will often force their parents to due a U turn just to drive by and see it again and people will sometimes stop and dance with them. They afford a large area of signage (12” x 15 FT of signage area). They are hands down the best value for the investment. Art is normally placed on the front only and turned to the street.

15 FT ARROW, OVAL OR RECTANGLE DANCERS

These allow for a lot of signage and becuase the arrow version is usually turned sideways, art is usually put on both sides. They only dance above the arrow. The art on the arrow can be placed on a removable banner if you like.  The area below the arrow is only 3 FT and the width of the body above the arrow is only 12” as compared to 18” becuase the arrow takes a lot of air flow to keep inflated. Often art is sewn above, below and on the arrow and double sided. This extra lettering, plus the extra labor and material used and wasted during manufacturing is higher, they will generally cost apx $150 more than a standard air dancer, but for places where an arrow is needed (due to a similar business next door, drive thrus, car washs and very hidden locations), they can be a great choice.

TWO LEG PATENTED DANCING FLY GUYS

These require two fans and a fee paid to the patent holder. Only the Genuine Dancing Fly Guy will truly dance and knock off versions will only flap their arms.  The 18 FT version dances faster and the tubing is 14” wide vs 18” wide as found on the 28 FT version. The 18 FT version dances faster whereas the 28 FT (measured arms up) dances slower.  These are better for drawing attention and less for signage or a message. They are also louder due to the need for two fans.  For the money, the one leg unit or arrow dancer is the most bang for the buck, but sometimes only a Fly Guy will do for a particular situation.  They truly are amazing to watch. Like all of our units, they can be customized for $50 to $300.
